Like the fountain figure of Cupid riding a dolphin at the far left, which alludes to the pictorial tradition of gardens of love, the sculpture of the lecherous forest demon, Pan, towering over the illustrious hunting party, warns against excessive indulgence in pleasurable and boisterous activities.
