This work is attributed to an anonymous artist who was involved in the painting of the frescos in the ‘Sala dei mesi’ in the Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferrara. To the left and right of the Virgin Mary are the saints Bernardino of Siena, Augustine, Benedict and Anthony of Padua. Traces of a zodiac and, to the left, a ship are recognisable on the chased gilded background.
