The Little Fruit-Seller,

A young girl and a boy are cheerfully counting the day’s takings that they have presumably earned from selling fruit. The painting is dated to a relative late period in Murillo’s oeuvre—it was created at least twenty years after the ‘Grape and Melon Eaters’. The colouration is now lighter, the application of paint more liberal—even the poverty of the children is shown in a softer light.
