Louis, the Duke of Burgundy, was the eldest son of the Grand Dauphin. Following his father's death in 1711, he became the successor to the throne of his grandfather, Louis XIV, but he died in 1712 of an infectious disease that was probably the measles. Similar to his father, he poses as a military commander outdoors, and he also wears the sash of the Order of the Holy Spirit.
