The Virgin and Christ Child are enthroned behind a stone parapet. To the left and right, next to the throne, which is framed by crystal columns entwined with golden chains, angels are singing and playing music; legendary scenes are shown in the background. The whole painting is in praise of the Virgin. This is continued in the Latin inscription on a sheet on the parapet: “O glorious, eternally merciful Mother of God, Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven, ruler over the Earth and the angels, the sole giver of hope and comfort to the wretched”.
