Despite Canaletto’s dominance, Marieschi successfully established himself as a veduta painter as well. His preference for wide-angled perspectives enabled him to show the Baroque façade of the Cà Pesaro and the near side of the Canal Grande, brought to life by staffage figures, at the same time.
